It all begins with the land

There lies the story of us all.

Campfire Archaeology and Heritage Ltd. is a full-spectrum archaeological and heritage management consulting firm based in North Vancouver. With a community-first approach, we collaborate with First Nations communities to ensure their heritage is honoured and preserved.

We operate according to five core values

  • 1. Our Foundation

Our work in heritage management begins with living descendant communities. By embedding a First Nations-centered approach into everything we do, meaningful archaeological work and effective project solutions emerge naturally.

  • 2. Inspiring Change

We are committed to transformation—within ourselves, the communities we work with, and our clients. Every project is an opportunity to create lasting impact.

  • 3. Continuous Growth

We believe there is always room for improvement. By challenging the status quo and staying at the forefront of our expertise, we ensure excellence in every aspect of our work.

  • 4. Accountability in Action

We take full responsibility for our decisions and actions—to our team, the communities we serve, and our clients. Transparency and integrity guide our approach.

  • 5. Collaborative Spirit

Bringing the best minds together is key to our success. We recognize that valuable contributions can come from anywhere, and listening closely is the foundation of true collaboration.

We respectfully acknowledge that our workplace in North Vancouver sits on the unceded traditional territories of the Squamish (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh), Tsleil-Waututh (səl̓ilwətaɁɬ), and Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm) Nations. These Coast Salish peoples have been stewards of these lands and waters since time immemorial, maintaining deep connections to this place we now call North Vancouver.

We recognize the vital relationship between these First Nations and their traditional territories, which has sustained their communities, culture, and ways of life for thousands of years. We acknowledge the lasting impacts of colonization and commit to learning from and working with these Nations in the spirit of reconciliation and respect.

As guests on these lands, we are grateful for the opportunity to work here and acknowledge our responsibility to honor and support the Indigenous communities whose territories we occupy.
